Twelve days after a Bihar man murdered a woman and her two children in an extramarital affair case in Sholavaram, the police on Sunday arrested the accused.
Accused Guddu Sahani (27) murdered his lover Sumitha Bhar, wife Dwaraka Bhar and her children Sarath (4) and Reema (1) on February 7. Guddu worked in a private company in Tiruvallur. He lived in a rented house at Jagannadhapuram in Sholavaram. Police said Dwaraka Bhar and Guddu were colleagues.
Two weeks ago, Dwaraka found the door of his house locked and set out to find his wife and children. He went to Guddu's house where he saw his children lying unconscious on the floor while his wife lay in a pool of blood. While the children died, Sumitha sustained stab injuries and was sent to the Tiruvallur Government Hospital, where she succumbed a day later.
On the orders of Avadh Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore, a team led by Inspector Sholavaram Jaganathan found the accused near Janapanchatram Bridge. Guddu claimed he was in a relationship with a woman.
He was charged with murder and taken into judicial custody.
